Pamela J. Steele, 76

Massillon — Pamela J. Steele , age 76, of Massillon, formerly of Dalton, died Friday, December 2, 2022, at The Inn at University Village in Massillon, following a 6 year courageous battle with cancer.
Pamela was born on October 7, 1946, in Dover, Ohio, to the late William and Marie (Reeder) Murray and belonged to the Orrville High School class of 1964. She later obtained her GED, and she attended the Akron Institute of Medical Assisting.  She married Robert Eugene “Nick” on June 23, 1972, in Wooster. Robert survives.
She worked as a Clerical Medical Assistant for Mercy Medical Center in Canton for 14 years, retiring in 1999.
Pamela was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and Al-Anon. She enjoyed reading, dancing, and was an avid collegiate football fan and was always current on all of the teams, players and stats. Pamela had a passion for human rights, strong political beliefs, and had a generous heart in which she believed in paying it forward by supporting many special causes. She enjoyed traveling south, especially to Florida with her “Nick”. Pam’s greatest love in this life was for her family and spending time with them. She especially loved being a Nana to her grandchildren, who she called “her babies”.
Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Steele of Canton, and Amy (Stephen) Palfy of Navarre; three grandchildren, Ryan (Katelyn) Palfy, Kylee Palfy, and Chloe Palfy; two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Kasen Palfy; four siblings, Cecelia “Joyce” Williams of Orrville, Cindy (Gary) Converse of Athens, GA, Dennis (Diane) Murray of Wooster, and Melissa (John) Scott of Orrville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son, Brian “Scott”Fetter; brother, Michael Murray; and sister, Theresa Zuercher.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Services will follow and begin at 11:00 am with Fr. Stephen Moran officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
