Rachel L. Kuhns, 79

Rachel L. Kuhns, 79, of Kidron, departed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at her home following a period of declining health with cancer.

She was born near Kidron in 1943, the daughter of Harvey J. and Martha E. (Amstutz) Nussbaum. She married David L. Kuhns on May 11, 1963. He died on January 13, 2022.
She enjoyed many activities and many people, being most thankful for her faith in God, her children, and family. She was a member of Longenecker Evangelical Anabaptist Fellowship (formerly Longenecker Mennonite Church) for over 50 years.
Surviving are four children, Kenneth (Jennifer), Patricia (Clark) Willems, Karl (Lisa), and Leroy (Amy); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn (Roman) Hostetler, Marcella Wengerd, and Barb Hostetler; a brother, Roger (Cheryl) Nussbaum; and many extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by in-laws, Levi L. and Elma Kuhns, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a sister, Ruth (Ervin) Hershberger, a brother, Chester (Doris) Nussbaum, and a sister-in-law, Iva (Albert) Yoder.
Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at Longenecker Evangelical Anabaptist Fellowship, 2200 Township Road 606, Dundee (near Winesburg) with Pastor Jeff Bargerstock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, December 11 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.

The family would like to thank friends and family that assisted with Rachel’s care, and also Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare for their kind and compassionate service.
