Adolfo “Rudy” Lombardi, 78
Rittman — Adolfo “Rudy” Lombardi, age 78, of Rittman, formerly of Indian Lake Estates, FL, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a brief period of declining health.
Adolfo was born on January 23, 1944, in Ripi, Italy, to the late Luigi and Giustina (D’Arduini) Lombardi. He married Maria Persichetti on July 15, 1972, in the Bronx, NY. They spent 40 wonderful and loving years together before she passed on November 9, 2012.
He worked as a concrete construction worker for 40 years.
Adolfo was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales Florida. He enjoyed poker night with the family, and car shopping even if he wasn’t looking to purchase a car. Adolfo was a doer; he was always painting or fixing things around the house to make sure they were in pristine condition. He loved cooking and took great pride in making his own pasta, sauces, and wine. Showering people with his cooking brought him great joy. Adolfo was a man with a big heart. He would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. Adolfo loved his wife like something crazy; when she passed a part of him went with her. Adolfo cherished spending time with his family. He was very involved with his grandchildren and always came to the rescue to baby sit them whenever he was needed.
Surviving are daughter, Christina (Steven) Lorson of Wooster; grandchildren, Luke, Olivia, and Jacob Lorson of Wooster; brother, Mario (Nella) Lombardi of Pleasantville, NY; two sister-in-laws, Anna Lombardi of Ripi, Italy, and Beryl Lombardi of Verbank, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Roniero and Sisto Lombardi.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, at the funeral home, with Father Richard Samide officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at the Lakeland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lakeland, FL.
