Vonda J. Vance, 81

WOOSTER — Vonda J. Vance, age 81, of Wooster, formerly of Orrville, died Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster, following a short period of declining health.

Vonda was born on November 14, 1941, in Orma, West Virginia, to the late Herbert and Lydia Mae (Sampson) Butler.

She graduated with a degree in accounting from the Wooster Business College and worked as a Nurses Aide at the former Wayne General Hospital in Orrville.  She finished her career as a Resident’s Aide at Apple Creek Developmental Center for 6 years, retiring in 1983.

Vonda enjoyed crocheting, audio books on the BARD website, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her son, Duane L. Vance of Wooster; brother, Dallas White of Berlin Center; and six nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Vance; brother, Delmas Butler; and former husband, Harold E. Vance.

Friends may call on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery, 1729 West High Street, Orrville, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

A service will follow the calling at 1:00 PM on Monday, with Pastor Don E. Bolich officiating.
