Marlene (Helline) Yoder, 82

Marlene (Helline) Yoder, age 82, passed away peacefully in her home on December 25 , 2022.

She was born on April 4, 1940 to Walter Sr. and Irene (Balala) Helline. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bob (Robert) Yoder; sister, Gertrude and brother-in-law, Tom Braig; brother, Fred Helline; and sister-in-law, Sue Helline.
She is survived by sister, Ann Marie (Harold) Prunty, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Helline; brothers, Walt and Jeff (Susan) Helline; children, James Yoder, Randy (Tammy) Yoder, Terry (Ellen) Yoder, and Robbie (Missy) Yoder; grandchildren, Kelsey (Josh) Mayo, Tyler (Angelina) Yoder, Ian and Eryn Yoder, Devinne Yoder, Ashley (Scott) Willig, Amber (Tad) McGraw; great grandchildren, Madilyn and Jaxon Mayo, Addy, Carter, Colton, Kylie  and Tucker Willig, and Riley and Trenton McGraw; numerous sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Marlene was extremely kind-hearted and generous. She loved her family by hosting years of Christmas Eve and Christmas gatherings, giving copious amounts of gifts, and cooking delicious comfort food. She provided transportation to neighbors for medical appointments, ran an unofficial egg “coop”, cheered on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in their various sports activities, and took in many stray cats whom she loved and spoiled. She was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians (she was considering whether she would switch over to the name Guardians), Cleveland Browns, Ohio State football and gardening. She kept a well-groomed yard filled with beautiful flowers and a decorative pond which she carefully tended all her adult life. She and her husband loved camping at Lake Lila with friends. She thrived on family euchre tournaments, playing cards weekly with her siblings, playing dominoes with her late husband’s sisters every Saturday and Settlers of Catan twice a week with her sons. True to her nature, Marlene was the “chauffer” for her late husband’s sisters when they met for dominoes.
