David Paul Mowrer, 70
Orrville — David Paul Mowrer, age 70, of Orrville, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his residence in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
David was born on October 14, 1952, in Wooster, Ohio, to the late Richard and Mary Alice (Leathers) Mowrer and graduated from Waynedale High School & Wayne County Career Center. He married Dorothy “Dot” Amstutz on January 14, 2006, in Orrville. Dorothy “Dot” survives.
He previously worked for Ports Petroleum and Jones Construction and retired from the Wayne County Engineer’s office.
David was a member of Orrville Christian Church. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with Mike (Vicki) Coleman & Steve (Deb Underwood) Rowland, liked going on one tank road trips to places such as Waldo “home of the best fried bologna sandwich,” and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to Dot he is survived by, son, Jay (Melanie) Mowrer of Louisville; daughter, Gwen Mowrer of Shreve; grandchildren, Madeline, Jeret, Clay, Christian, and Aubrey; two sisters, Janet (Phil) Miller of Wooster, and Julie (Ron Kurtz) Covert of St. James, FL; step-daughter, Brenda (Jeff) McIntyre of Wooster; step-grandchildren, Megan McIntyre of Wooster, and Cody (Kaitlin) McIntyre of Ashburn, VA; step-great grandchild, Camden McIntyre; six step-brothers, George R. Amstutz of Dalton, Orden E. Amstutz of Orrville, Enos (Judy) Amstutz of Orrville, Sank (Joyce Williams) Amstutz of Orrville, Larry (Ruth) Amstutz of San Antonio, TX, and Chet (Denise) Amstutz of Orrville.
He was preceded in death by, step-brother, Sylvan D. Amstutz, and step-sisters, Virginia Gerber, and Lois Quigley.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. David requests that everyone coming to wear blue jeans as you would always see David in them.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, at Auble Funeral Home, with Pastors John Mulpas & Tom Ledford officiating. Cremation will take place after the services.
