1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
I am honored to be a part of the Dalton Local teaching staff. We have a great staff that works together daily to meet the needs of our students. I am so appreciative of the Dalton community for their continued support of our schools.

2. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated from Orrville High School and continued my education at The University of Akron. I received my Bach-elors Degree in Elementary Education K-8. I also earned my Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate K-12 Degree from The University of Akron. I began my teaching career at Kingsway Christian School where I taught for two years. I then received a teaching position for the Orrville City School District and taught there for 11 years. This is my ninth year teaching in the Dalton Local School District. I have taught seven years as an intervention specialist for the district, and this is my second year teaching fourth grade. I reside in Orrville with my husband Tim. We have been married for 22 years and have 4 beautiful children. (Brennen 17, Sophia 14, Cole 10, and Ella 4)

3. Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
In high school I was enrolled in a Spanish class. We had the opportunity to be matched with a penpal to communicate with to further develop our new language skills. I was paired with a penpal from France! Luckily for me, she spoke English. We have remained friends since high school and continue to communicate to this day. I was able to meet her twice when she traveled to the United States. Our communication today is more through social media than writing letters, but we have shared major life moments together since high school. Ironically, she is also a teacher. I hope to one day visit her and her family in France.
