Why was this not taken into consideration before the law was passed? This is a very controversial subject among certain Amish groups, which I know very well. On one hand you have highway safety concerns. On the other you have infringements on religious beliefs. Somewhere there has to be a compromise. Maybe perhaps they would agree to a bright white strobe light, the type is used on bicycles, and school buses, (not a yellow colored light). These lights can be made small enough not to be obtrusive. I have seen them and they are bright enough to be seen through the fog. Perhaps that is the compromise both sides can agree to.
I have nothing against the Amish but ,absolutely they should be required proper lighting. I actually got hit by a buggy yrs ago due to no peoper lights. He was sited for it too.. Also important….No where in scriptures supports several of their beliefs either .

I don’t think it’s right Amish haves there own law get over it
