Hillary Harlow
7th/8th grade ELA Tutor

Reason for selection:
Mrs. Harlow works with many of our 7th and 8th grade students and goes above and beyond to support their academic needs in the classroom. Additionally to this she treats every person at DMS with kindness and care. She is a team player and will help out DMS in any way she can. We appreciate the efforts each day that Mrs. Harlow shows our students and staff and glad she is a part of Dalton Local Schools!

1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
I love working at Dalton because everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. I also love smaller school districts where you can really get to know and build relationships with the people you are working with and the students you are teaching. I think that is really important.

2. How did you get to where you are today?
Originally, I went to college for Speech and Language Pathology but it never really felt right and eventually I learned that teaching is what has my heart. I did my student teaching at Dalton in 2019 and knew that I wanted to work here. When I graduated, I sent in my resume and crossed my fingers. Now, this is my second year as a tutor at Dalton and I absolutely love what I do.

3. Tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
There are four generations in my family that are exactly 30 years apart! My grandma was born in 1932, my dad in 1962, I was born in 1992, and my daughter was born in 2022!
