Larry L. Mast, 79
Orrville — Larry L. Mast, age 79, of Orrville, formerly of Dalton, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Larry was born on October 22, 1943, in Millersburg, Ohio, to Dan S. and Mary (Miller) and graduated from Dalton High School in 1961. He married Kathy (Brown) Mast on August 20, 1966, in Kidron. They were blessed with 57 years of loving life together.
He retired in 2000 from United Parcel Service after 31 years of respected service and safe driving.
Larry was an active member of Salem Mennonite Church in Kidron, where he made several service trips with SWAP. Before his illness he also enjoyed volunteering for special projects with People to People Ministries. He loved outdoor activities, especially time spent fishing and golfing with family and friends. After retirement he discovered his love for cooking and baking, particularly his mother’s famous angel food cake. Traveling was a highlight of his life, with family beach vacations being his favorite.
He was a proud father and father-in-law of Brent (Francesca) Mast, and Kristen (David) Gannon. His life became even more beautiful with the arrival of his grandchildren, Addison, Kael, and Kaden Gannon, and Cormac Mast. He was a dedicated Papa, always attending their sporting and musical events, and passing down his love of euchre. He will be remembered for his quiet faith, kindness, generosity, his clean cars, and his sharp sense of style.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, he is survived by his siblings, Marion (Norma) Mast, Maxine (Mark) Hershberger, and Marlene (Todd) Sommer; his brothers-in-law, Tom and Jim (Patty) Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Willis, and his in-laws, George and Ellen Brown.
