Eli S. Hershberger, 79

Eli S. Hershberger, 79, of 9894 Hogback Road, Fredericksburg, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his home following a three and a half year battle with dementia.

He was born in Wayne County on November 15, 1943 to the late Sam E. and Lydia Ann (Weaver) Hershberger and married Sara W. Yoder on October 12, 1967 and she survives.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Dennis (Fannie) Hershberger of Glenmont, Allen (Ruth) Herhberger of Shreve, Norman (Katie) Hershberger of the home, Esther (Levi) Yoder of Wetmore, CO, Henry (Mabel) Hershberger of Fredericksburg, Marty (Ida) Hershberger of Apple Creek, Wayne (Miriam) Hershberger, Joseph (Mandi) Hershberger and Miriam (Mose) Keim, all of Fredericksburg;56 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Amanda (Dan) Weaver, Atlee (Anna) Hershberger and Henry (Mary) Hershberger; sister-in-law, Esther (Melvin) Hershberger; step-brothers, Dan (Saloma) Yoder, Emery (Esta) Yoder and Roy (Clara) Yoder; and a step-sister, Mary (Jerry) Huebner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Susie Yoder; brother, Melvin; brothers-in-law, David Wengerd and Dan Weaver; and a great grand daughter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 9:00 am at the family residence with Bishop Raymond Miller officiating.  Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County.  Friends may call anytime after 2:00 pm on Sunday and anytime on Monday at the family home.  Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
