KIDRON Firefighters responded to a call that came in at 10:48 a.m. Feb. 4 for a residential structure fire along Wenger Road. The fire was called in by passersby and no one was home at the time, according to a post on the Kidron Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page.
“The fire had progressed from what appeared to be the rear of the exterior, into the kitchen, and up into the attic space at the time of our arrival,” the post states. “An aggressive attack was made and the fire was under control by 11:50 a.m. Salvage and overhaul took some considerable time and our units were back in the station by 3:40 p.m.”
The post states that the cause of the fire is yet undetermined and the residents are receiving aid from family for temporary housing.
The KVFD post thanked the mutual aid departments for their help: Mt Eaton, East Wayne, Apple Creek, and Orrville.
