Corey Schlegel, 38

Corey Schlegel, age 38, of Wooster, entered into rest unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Wooster.

Corey was born in Wooster, on October 4, 1984 to Robert L. and Marcia L. (Miller) Schlegel. He previously lived in the Apple Creek and Shreve areas.

He had attended Triway Local Schools from elementary through high school.

Corey was employed by JLG Industries, Inc. in Orrville for several years and also worked as a CNC Operator for other area companies.

He was a sports card enthusiast, enjoyed collecting tools, and was a true Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cavs. But above all else, he loved spending time with his beloved son, Kellan. Anyone that knew Corey, also knew that he had a huge, loving, generous heart and loved giving to others. He had the brightest smile and the warmest hug.

In addition to his son, Corey will be deeply missed by his parents, Rob and Marcia Schlegel; sisters Kyle (Buddy) Hoover, brother Colin Schlegel and sister Caitlin Schlegel; nephews, Mason, Calum, Asher, Caleb, Axton, Jeremiah, Carter and a niece, Cayla; many aunts, uncles, cousins, his former spouse, Amanda Butts and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Wrather, Russell & Billie Miller and his best friend, Jason Babb.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6 – 8 pm at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster and one hour prior to services from (12:00 pm – 1:00 pm) on Wednesday.

Services will be on Wednesday, April 12th, 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Don Bolich officiating followed by burial at Wooster Cemetery.
