John R. “Dick” Weeman, 90

        Together Again

 

 

Wooster — John R. “Dick” Weeman, age 90, of Orrville, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Danbury Senior Living Wooster in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Dick was born on May 15, 1932, in Orrville, to the late John and Alice (Butzer) Weeman, graduated from Apple Creek High School in 1950, and served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He married Carolyn Joyce Hilty on November 12, 1955, in Orrville. They were married 62 years until Carolyn passed on January 18, 2018.
He worked as a plant manager & engineer for Will-Burt Company in Orrville for over 45 years, retiring in 1993.
Dick enjoyed farming, flying, woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Sue (Rodney) Morrison of Smithville, Laurie Lynn (David) Stahl of Wooster, and Sandy K. (Bill) Besancon of Smithville; a son, David (Pam) Weeman of Ocala, FL; thirteen grandchildren, Richard (Katie) Morrison, Amy (Kevin) Beichler, Bryan (Sarah) Morrison, Melissa (Justin) Singletary, Mike (Grace) Weeman, Marc Weeman, Katie (Keith) Kerns, Ashley (Ben) Hoffman, Tyler (Erica) Stahl, Brett (Liz) Besancon, Beth (John) Matty, Doug (Steph) Besancon, Greg Besancon;  30 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; three siblings, Jim (Margaret) Weeman, Mary (Robert-dec.) Tschiegg, and Karen Maxwell, all of Orrville; and numerous nieces and nephews;
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William, Ross and Roy Weeman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
