Linda Hoffman-Peterson, 81

Canton — Linda Hoffman-Peterson, age 81, of Canton, died Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, at The Pines Healthcare Center in Canton, following a period of declining health.
Linda was born on July 5, 1941, in Canton, Ohio, to Walter and Frances (Howell) Hoffman and graduated from Glen Oak High School in 1959.  She graduated from Drew University in Madison, NJ, with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and earned a Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, OH.
She was a homemaker and a substitute teacher in the Canton area schools.  Most recently she served as a Pastor for United Methodist Church, in the East Ohio Conference for several years, retiring in 1998.
Linda enjoyed growing plants and flowers, word games online, and travel.  She will be remembered as an intelligent woman who loved poetry, literature, and Shakespeare.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann (Lorin) Peterson Miller of Orrville and Beth (Cindy Furey) Peterson of Delaware; two sons, Geoff (Michelle) Peterson of Shaker Heights and Chris Peterson of Sydney, Australia; two grandchildren, Ephraim (Ana Kisha) Miller and Kieran (Heather Stertzbach) Miller; former husband, John (Greg Walland) Peterson of Las Cruces, NM; her dog, Marcus; and her cat, Angel.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Diane Morrison.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1556 Rex Drive, Orrville, from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm.
A memorial service will follow at 2:30 pm on Saturday, at the church, with Rev. Dr. David Rittgers officiating.
