Doris E. Smith, 73
Doris E. Smith, 73, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Amherst Meadows in Massillon.
She was born near Apple Creek on February 2, 1950 to the late Milton and Fern (Gerber) Hofstetter and married Kenneth R. Smith on May 4, 1996 and he survives.
She retired from Buehler’s Food Markets as an accountant in 2013 and was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Dalton.
In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by a brother, Earl (Wilma) Hofstetter of Elida; sisters, Betty (Mike) Prater of Orrville, Mary (Rodney) Arney of Dalton, Irene (Honor) Young of West Salem and Barbara Miller of Kidron; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis; a brother, Harold; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Community Church, 18600 Davis Road, Dalton, with Pastor Shane Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Dalton Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 10-11:00 am prior to services at the church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
