Voters pass Kidron Fire levy; Plybon narrowly wins Orrville mayoral primary

While some levies and issues were not approved by voters May 2, a levy to help fund fire and EMS services provided by Kidron Volunteer Fire Department was passed by residents of the southern Sugar Creek Township Fire District at the primary/special election.

According to the Wayne County Board of Elections website, here are a few of the unofficial results:

  • Mayor – City of Orrville (Republican) Matthew Plybon 646, Darrell G. Mosley II 624
  • Mayor – City of Wooster (Republican) Bob Reynolds 1,807; Mike Buytendyk 1,196
  • Proposed Income Tax (Renewal) – Hillsdale Local School District: Against the tax 28, for the tax 20
  • Proposed Tax Levy (Renewal) – Triway Local School District: Against the tax levy 492, for the tax levy 406
  • Proposed tax levy (Renewal) – West Holmes Local School District: Against the tax levy 9, for the tax levy 3
  • Proposed Bond Issue – Wooster City School District: Against the bond issue 5,641, for the bond issue 1,227
  • Proposed Tax Levy (Replacement and Increase) Central Fire District: For the tax levy 821; against the tax levy 466
  • Proposed Tax Levy (Additional) Southern Sugar Creek Township Fire District: For the tax levy 131, against the tax levy 69
  • Proposed Tax Levy (Renewal and Increase) Wayne County Care Center: Against the tax levy 5,792; for the tax levy 4,861
