Walter Domer Jr.

DALTON – Walter Domer Jr., age 80, passed away on May 27, 2023.

Born on June 25, 1942 in Dalton to the late Walter Sr. and Mae (Curie) Domer, he was a life resident and 1960 graduate of Dalton High School. Walter worked at Johnson Hardware in Orrville for 28 years and then became owner/operator of Domer Water Supply in 1989 until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of the East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, where he was a past trustee, Cedar Lodge #430 F&A.M. in Orrville, where he was past master in 1995, also Valley of Canton Scottish Rite. Walter was also a member, becoming a life member in 2006, of the Ohio Water Well Association where he served as president in 1995 and 2006, and had also been a member of the Tadmor Shrine. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Don, Becky (Charles) Einsig, Robert, June (Jack) Koontz, Gloria Mishler, Ronald (Wilma), Roger, Lola Faye Domer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Judy; daughters, Jill (Jim) Specht of Orrville, Jodi Young of Elyria, OH; son, Robert (Shannon) Domer of Dalton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Catrone, Kayla Domer, Jessica Specht, Lexi Domer, Chelsea Young; great grandchildren, Carter, and Laney Catrone; brother, Neal Domer of Orrville; brother-in-law, George Mishler; sister-in-law Lela Horst; other family and friends.

There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service with inurnment at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
