Father Paul J. Wysocki, 84

Williamsfield — Father Paul J. Wysocki, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in his farm home in Williamsfield, Ohio.
Fr. Paul was born on August 20, 1938 in Carbondale, PA to the late John and Vida (Vauter) Wysocki.  Fr. Paul was a graduate of St. Gregory Seminary in Cincinnati.  He attended Borromeo Seminary in Cleveland and was ordained into the priesthood in 1964 at St. John’s Cathedral in Cleveland.  In 1972, Fr. Paul earned a double master’s degree in education, counseling and guidance at Kent State University.
Fr. Paul served the parishes of St. Paul’s in Akron, St. Ignatius in Cleveland, St. Mary’s in Elyria and St. Mary’s in Painesville.  Fr. Paul then served four years as campus chaplain at Ursuline College.  He also served as the Newman campus minister for Ashland College, Agricultural Technical Institute, College of Wooster and Wayne College.
In January 1982, Fr. Paul became the pastor at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville, Ohio.   The parish thrived under his spiritual leadership and friendship and he thoroughly enjoyed his St. Agnes family.  In November 2003, Fr. Paul entered retirement status as a priest and moved to his farm home in Williamsfield.  Fr. Paul celebrated his Golden (50th) Jubilee of his Priestly Ordination in 2014.  Fr. Paul had a love of music, the outdoors, his extended family and the parishioners of St. Agnes and helping others enrich their own lives through Christ’s teachings.  Fr. Paul was beloved by and inspired by all who met him.  Fr. Paul was a kind, thoughtful and scholarly servant of Christ.
Fr. Paul was preceded in death by his brother Jackie.  Fr. Paul is survived by numerous cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 541 Spring Street, Orrville, with main celebrant Bishop Michael G. Woost. Friends may call prior to the mass from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the church. Internment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland at 3:30 pm on July 18th.
