Suzanne Huff Tipton, 86

Orrville — Suzanne Huff Tipton, age 86, of Orrville, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at her residence in Orrville.
Suzanne was born on April 29, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Clayton and Frances (Mitcham) Huff and graduated from Garfield High School and then attended Ohio University.  She married Morris M. “Mo” on April 12, 1958, in Akron, Ohio. Morris died on November 28, 2011.
She worked as the Business Manager for the University of Akron Wayne College in Orrville for 25 + years, retiring in 1997.
Suzanne was the head majorette at Garfield High School, played piano and loved a wide variety of music, and modeled for Goodyear Tires. She was very mechanically inclined and good at fixing anything, and was a big Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cavs and the Browns. During the many years when Mo was OHS Head Football coach, some called her “Mrs. Football,” as she was their biggest cheerleader, and hostess at their home, cooking for and encouraging players and coaches constantly coming in and out. She enjoyed gardening, and loved hosting the family for Christmases through the years. Her cooking was loved by all, especially her spaghetti.
Surviving are her five children, Scot Tipton of Riverview, FL, BonnySue (James) Williams of Kettering, Eric (Colleen) Tipton of Easton, MD, Julianne Temlin of Pawleys Island, SC, and Clay (Julie) Tipton of Rapid City, SD; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl H. Backstrom.
Friends may call on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Hull officiating. Burial will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
