William F. Harder, 93

DALTON – William F. Harder, age 93, passed away on August 24, 2023.

Born on February 7, 1930 in Hubbard, OH to the late Edward G. and Helen E. (Grim) Harder, he was a resident of Dalton since 1970.  William had a lengthy career, working at Louisiana Pacific, Pro Fab, and then retiring from Orrvilon.  Bill had been a volunteer firefighter in Hubbard, as was his father and grandfather, and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Massillon. Bill enjoyed making items with stained glass and gave them to family and friends, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Jim (Sally) of Mt. Vernon, OH, Diane Nussbaum, David (Cathy), and Alan (Debra) all of Dalton; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Vince) Barra; brother, Mark (Pam) Harder; sister-in-law, Judy Harder, and Jane Dillon; other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; granddaughter Julie Chappell, and great-grandson Blayne Nussbaum; brothers, Donald and Robert Harder.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 4275 Lincoln Way W., Massillon, OH 44677 with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
