Debbie J. Lower, 72

DALTON – Debbie J. Lower, age 72, passed away on September 2, 2023.

Born on May 20, 1951 in Orrville to the late Donald W. and Neva J. (Garver) Massie, she was a 1970 graduate of Dalton High School, and was a lifelong resident of the Dalton and Wooster areas.  Retiring from the Best Western in Wooster in 2001, she had also been employed by Cocchia House and also was a waitress and tended bar at various other establishments.  Debbie also ran the former Dalton V.F.W. for a short time.  Attending the Sippo Valley Brethren Church for many years, she was an avid bird watcher and loved to cook for everyone while hosting holiday and birthday celebrations at her home.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Darrell and Donnie Massie; sister, Danita Mallileu.  She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Paul; daughter, Nita Bower; granddaughter, Lillie Bower, both of Wooster; sister, Donna George of Dalton; brothers, Dennis (Robin) Massie of Dalton, Dale (Cindy) Massie of Shreve, Dean Massie of Dalton; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 12 p.m. at the Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618 with Pastor Dan Hostetler, officiating.  Burial will take place at Dalton Cemetery.  Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Online obituary and guest registry are available at www.zakmonbarrenfh.com
