Robert Wesley “Bob” Romey, 95

Brewster — Robert Wesley “Bob” Romey, age 95, of Brewster, formerly of Kidron, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Brewster Park Nursing Home, following a period of declining health.

Bob was born on July 7, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska, to the late Amos and Elsie (Peterson) Romey and graduated from Dalton High School in 1949.  He married Elizabeth Joanne Doyle on June 30, 1950, in Orrville. Elizabeth passed away on June 13, 2018.

He worked at Schantz Organ Company for 45 years. While there he held many positions, but his most recent position prior to retiring in 1991 was as a draftsman. Bob was also a charter fireman with the Kidron Fire Department and served for many years.

Bob enjoyed fast pitch softball, golf, and snowmobiling. He was an excellent woodworker and had a nursery for many years.

Surviving are four children, Elizabeth “Ann” Mumaw, Susan (Bob) Miller, Mike Romey, and Tom (Sherri) Romey; six grandchildren, Cassie (Nathan) Wallpe, Ron (Amy) Miller, Alex Romey, Jennifer (Andy) Morrow, Danielle (Josh) Rehm, and Lauren (Scott) Ramer; and eleven great grandchildren, Celeste, Logan, Bryson, Julia, Jace, Victoria, Lydia, Aniston, Lyla, Adalynn, and Asher.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Kennedy.

Friends may call on, September 17, 2023, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on September, 18, 2023, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles Bontrager officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
