Donald Dean Hershberger, 63

ORRVILLE — Donald Dean Hershberger, age 63, of Orrville, formerly of Kidron, died Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton, following a period of declining health.

Don was born on April 3, 1960, in Orrville, to the late Noah and Mary (Miller) Hershberger and graduated from Dalton High School in 1979.  He married Ardis Elaine Chapman on August 16, 1997, in Dalton.

He worked for Gerbery Poultry in Kidron and then as an Assembler for Kidron Body for several years, retiring due to disability.

Don attended Canaan Freewill Baptist Church in Creston. He enjoyed NASCAR, the Cleveland Guardians, the Cleveland Browns, and keeping his wife company.

He is survived by his wife, Ardis Hershberger; step-daughter, Angie Nussbaum of Rittman; step-grandson, Wesley Nussbaum of Rittman; three brothers, Leon (Esther) Hershberger of Wooster, Rich (Deb) Hershberger of Apple Creek and twin brother, Ronald Hershberger of Dalton; sister, Sharon Hershberger of Orrville; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Jack) Stroud of Orrville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Bryan Hershberger.

Friends may call on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Rd., Creston, from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm.

Services will be follow 4:00 pm on Sunday, at the church, with Pastor Aaron Bailey officiating.  Burial of ashes will take place at the Dalton Cemetery.
