Edgar Cody “Ted” Moore, 87
Wooster — Edgar Cody “Ted” Moore, age 87, of Wooster, died Friday, September 22, 2023, at his residence, from metastatic prostate cancer.
Ted was born on March 4, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Cody) Moore. He attended Lake Wales High School in Florida and graduated from Aiken High School in South Carolina. Ted went on to serve as an RD3 (E-4) in the United States Navy during Korean War. He married Laura Eugenia Harris on April 8, 1961, in Charlotte, NC. Laura survives.
He worked as a Deputy Director for Alston Wilkes Society for 20 + years, retiring in 1993.
Ted enjoyed model railroads, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Laura, Ted is survived by three children, Amelia Suzanne Moore (Daniel) of Ferndale, MI, Marie Loudette Moore (Howard Funk) of Orrville, OH, and Cameron Cody Moore (Dione Moore) of Wooster; six grandchildren, Alexander Cody Moore (Jess), Hannah Marie Moore (Justin), Benjamin David Moore, Madison Dean Hively (Mara), Jackson Edgar Moore, and Samantha Cody Funk; and two great grandchildren, Dean Jax Hively and William Cody Moore.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and a grandchild, Matthew Moore.
