Jeremy Wenger, left, owner of Twisted Piston, continues to grow the Dalton business and recently acquired C & J Traveling Wrench – along with the business’ experienced personnel. Chris “Corky” Davis, former owner of C & J’s Traveling Wrench, is now senior RV specialist at Twisted Piston and continues to do all the work his business has always done – just under a new name.

DALTON  It all fell into place nicely. Well-acquainted for several years, when Twisted Piston owner Jeremy Wenger joined forces with C & J Traveling Wrench to further expand and offer more services, it just seemed natural that the entire crew would come on board at Twisted Piston.

The full-service diesel repair business marks its 10-yearanniversary and three years since it grew into the larger facility near its original shop – a local landmark to motorists entering Dalton from the east – at 17485 Old Lincoln Way.

Now, former C & J Traveling Wrench owner Chris “Corky” Davis and Wenger are learning from each other and sharing knowledge. What hasn’t changed is the same “honest, ethical business practices” that customers from both businesses are used to over the years.

“It will give us a more complete offering to our customers, and a benefit to his customers we’ve had in the past that we can take care of the rest of their vehicle as well,” Wenger said.

Customers and residents are invited to an open house 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at the facility at 17485 Old Lincoln Way to enjoy some pancakes and coffee, meet Wenger, Davis and other Twisted Piston employees. Anyone is welcome to attend a free RV clinic to learn the basics of taking care of RVs from hookups at camp sites to taking care of electrical, water and sewage systems.

“We would love for the whole community to be a part of it,” Wenger said. “This is a great community. I grew up in this community. I just thought it would be a nice thing to do to put a cap on the summer.”

Davis said it’s a nice opportunity for residents to tour the facility and he hopes to continue to offer the RV knowledge and training class in the future.

Since purchasing C & J Traveling Wrench, Twisted Piston will continue offering its same reliable service, which includes specializes in servicing diesel pickups, Class 8 trucks and other vehicles as well as fleets, buses and emergency vehicles, and modifying trucks, but can also take that service on the road statewide.

Davis, who has been in the business since 1986, and started C & J with his wife, Julia, and also his son, continues filling his weekly calendar with coming to the rescue to repair RVs and other vehicles in and around Northeast Ohio.

Both Davis and Wenger are on the same page when it comes to reliable service and Wenger said he would like to stress that the service both companies provided customers in the past has not changed.

“His experience is an asset he brings to the table here,” Wenger said. “He’s always done business with quality and honesty.”

Wenger said that just like Twisted Piston, Davis has a following and a great clientele and he would like to assure customers they can rely on the same great service – and more.

Davis added that they take care of all RV work needed from roof repairs and floor replacements to chassis work with the motor and transmission to even plumbing, electrical and air conditioning.
