Robert C. “Bob” Croskey, 73
ORRVILLE – Robert C. “Bob” Croskey, age 73 Years, formerly of Orrville, died Saturday, November 11, 2023, at his cabin in Bowerston, following a period of declining health.
Bob was born on June 21, 1950, in Wooster, to the late Carl and Phyllis (Philips) Croskey Jr., graduated from Orrville High School in 1968, and served as a Specialist 4 in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a stocker for Buehler’s Market in Orrville , at Kidron Body, and then worked as an auto mechanic running his own business, Croskey’s Garage, and also owned and operated What About Bob D.J. Service for many years.
Bob was a former member of Augsburg Lutheran Church in Orrville where he was an acolyte in his youth. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and NASCAR. Racing stock cars was his way of life and he will be remembered as an active car owner, racing at Wayne County Speedway and other local tracks.
Surviving are his son, Chris Croskey of Kettering; grandson, Christopher Croskey of Kettering; sister, Deborah Mollohan of Orrville; brother, Ron (Roxanne) Croskey of Orrville; four nieces and nephews, Brandie (Nunzio) Metzker of Canton, Duke (Samantha Pflugh) Mollohan of Orrville, R.J. (Tia) Croskey of AZ, and Jimmy Mollohan of Orrville; great niece and nephew, Sunnie and William; and his ex-wife, Deborah Fisher of Kettering.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael J. Croskey.
Friends may call on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 E. Oak Street, Orrville, OH, from Noon to 1:00 pm.
Services will follow at 1:00 pm on Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Don E. Bolich officiating. Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, where military rites will be observed.
