Marvin Slabaugh, 84

Wooster — Marvin Slabaugh, age 84, of Wooster, died Sunday, November 26, 2023, at West View Healthy Living in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Marvin was born on March 17, 1939, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph J. and Mary O. (Tice) Slabaugh and attended Apple Creek High School.  He married Mary  Scherer on March 16, 1962, in Wooster.
He worked as a power plant control panel assembler for Rosemont Analytical for 42  years.
Marvin was a member of Paradise Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Marvin and his siblings loved to travel all over the United States throughout the years. He loved football and baseball. His favorite teams were the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Guardians. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Mary, surviving are three children, Beverly Wengerd of Apple Creek, Annette Schaffter of Wooster, and Duane (Cathleen) Slabaugh of Stockbridge, GA; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth (Cody) Anderson of GA, Ashley (Tae) Baxter of CA, Dekota Wengerd of OH, Lindsey (Tyler) Johnson of OH, Tyler (Sara) Slabaugh of GA, Morgan Schaffter of OH, and Jasmine, Jacob, Raven, Robbie Wengerd all of OH; two step-grandchildren, Adam Wengerd of OH, Noah (Robin) Wengerd of OH; six great grandchildren, Kylie and Cheyenne Anderson of GA, Angelica and Maverick Johnson of OH, Sol Baxter of CA, and Mariana Slabaugh of GA; seven step- great grandchildren, Brody, Isaac, Paige, Peyton, Willow Wengerd all of OH, Savannah Johnson of OH, and Allison Ramirez of GA; three siblings, Bertha Slabaugh of Orient, OH, William (Miriam) Slabaugh of Carson City, NV, and Miriam Bratschie of Grove City, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Martha Slabaugh and Raymond (Audrey) Slabaugh; and brother-in-law, Don Bratschie.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Paradise Church of the Brethren, 3000 Apple Creek Road, Smithville, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, at the church, with Pastor Terry Vaught officiating.
