John “Mark” Dalessandro, 72

Dalton — John “Mark” Dalessandro, age 72, of Dalton, formerly of Orrville, died Friday, December 22, 2023, at his home, Surrounded by family, and following a period of declining health.
Mark was born on October 1, 1951, in Orrville, to Samuel and Mary (Codiano) Dalessandro, graduated from Orrville High School in 1970, and attended Kent State University.  He married Karla May Keating on December 10, 1983, in Orrville, and Karla survives.
He and Karla were the owners and operators of MKD Concessions for 38 years, retiring in 2021.
Mark was a member of Greater Ohio Showmen’s Association.  He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, his winter trips to Florida, and following his grandchildren’s events, especially the sports.  He will be remembered as a great cook and a Jack of all trades.
In addition to his wife, Karla, he is survived by four children, Elizabeth, Elaine, Eric, and Danielle (Derek); grandchildren, Peyton May, Jillian, Chase, Landon, Audra, and Evan; bonus grandchildren, Payton Olivia and Maverick; brother, Bill (Sandra); three sisters-in-law, Judith Ann Dalessandro, Karen Gilkison, and Sheila Keating; brother-in-law, Charlie Wilson; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and his favorite cat, Greyson…and he hated cats!
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Bob and Kitty Keating; sister, Carole Ann Wilson; brother, Timothy G. Dalessandro; brother-in-law, Kenneth Keating; and niece, Dawn Marie Zerrer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
