Carlos Lyons Obituary

Carlos E. Lyons, 78 of Canal Fulton, died Saturday, December 30, 2023. He was born September 27, 1945 to the late William and Lucille (Carr) Lyons and preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Pamela (Remark) Lyons and brother, Bill (Betty) Lyons. Carl was a graduate of Akron Garfield High School and Penn State University. In 1969 he completed 4 years of service for his country and discharged as Sergeant in the United States Air Force. During his time serving in Taiwan, Carl helped his father complete the 2nd of the 3 nine hole golf courses that they would eventually build together. Lyons Den Golf North (#1) and South (#3) courses being the other two. As proud as he was of these accomplishments they paled in comparison to his role as a father and most especially a grandfather to his four beautiful grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he was their “Biggest Fan”. Chasing them for nearly 20 years from Ball field to Court to Course he never seemed to miss a game or a tournament. Sports were a large part of his early existence and remained that way thru the entirety of his life. Even to the point of building the family business around the game of golf. But they weren’t the whole of it or even the center. That was left for Jesus! And his greatest legacy! He introduced his wife and of his children early on to the saving Grace of Christ. And that would eventually flow through to his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless others he would encounter over the course of his walk. Many profess it. Few live it! But those that knew our dad knew how much his heart reflected the Father’s because of the work of the Son. He will be missed terribly but not forgotten.
Carl is survived by his son, Andy (Susan) Lyons; his daughter, Heidi (Ron) Miller; grandchildren, Jordan, Jensen, Jared and Tate; and niece, Becky (Paul) Ackley.
