Raymond A. “Bud” Maxwell, 84

Marshallville — Raymond A. “Bud” Maxwell , age 84, of Marshallville, died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a period of declining health.
Bud was born on February 19, 1939, in Orrville, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Edith (Weckesser) Maxwell. He served as an Airman 1st Class in the United States Air Force as an aircraft electrical technician during the time of the Korean War. Bud married Janice Stoll on October 26, 1963, in Barberton. Janice survives.
He graduated from Orrville High School in 1957 and worked as a conveyor belt manufacturer for BF Goodrich, and a maintenance man for Quality Castings.
Bud was a member of American Legion Post 718. He enjoyed being a handyman by trade and had many other hobbies including shopping, woodworking, bowling, watching old western movies with John Wayne, shopping at roadside veggie stands, and taking his family to WW2 and Civil War reenactments. In his older age, Bud liked to revisit places where memories from his childhood were made. Most of all, he cherished spending time with family.
Surviving are three children, Mike A. (Cindy) Maxwell, Lisa Ann Maxwell, and Carrie Rae (Andy) Basniak; four sisters, Rosene Zaros , Margret  Sovig, Nina (Jim) Saltzman, and Susie (Larry) Hughes; three grandchildren, Sara Maxwell, Mark Raymond Basniak, and Rose Victoria Basniak; numerous nieces and nephews; cats, Sophie, Dottie, and Bella; and several grand fur babies including dog, LLyod, and cat, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by brother, John Maxwell.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Marshallville, with Doug Hunter officiating.
