Lois Wudy (nee Bruck) was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 8, 1935 to Howard and Edna Bruck (nee Wise). She met Fred Wudy at the Hoffbrau Haus in Cleveland where they enjoyed dancing the polka. Fred asked her to marry him at her senior prom when she was 17 and they were married on October 18, 1952. They raised 2 children, Linda (Ted) Elder and John (Michele) Wudy in Euclid, Ohio. After Fred retired, they moved to Kidron, Ohio to live near family. They were Nana and Papa to 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. When they were small, the grandchildren happily went next door to have cookies with Nana and Papa. As they grew, Saturdays became the day that all the grandchildren came to Nana’s for lunch up to the last Saturday that she lived.
She attended churches near her home from her youth and enjoyed singing in the choir, participated in ladies’ groups and cooked meals for funerals. She was a member of Canton Baptist Temple most recently.
Fred preceded Lois in death in 2021 after 68 years of marriage. Lois joined him in Heaven on February 10, 2024 and is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Canton Baptist Temple. Burial will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8:00 pm at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton.
