Dawgs bite Chipps, fall to Cats in OT

Dalton High School’s varsity boys basketball team downed Chippewa for their first win of 2020. Their next game against Norwayne did not go as well when the Bobcats topped the Dawgs in overtime. Dalton now has a 7-4 overall record and a 3-3 WCAL record.
The Dawgs stopped Chippewa, 58-46, on Jan. 3 at home. Adam Bidlack guided Dalton with 15 points. Jalen Wenger finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Joey Dalessandro scored eight points and grabbed four boards. Jaiden Malone added six points and pulled four rebounds. Liam Riggenbach and Ezra Miller scored six points each. Tyler Baer had five points and three assists. Chance Green scored three points.
Dalton outscored Norwayne 14-12 in the fourth quarter to send their Jan. 4 game to OT, but the Bobcats pulled away in the extra time to win 58-51. Wenger led the Dawgs with 24 points and six rebounds. Bidlack added 12 points, six boards and three assists. Riggenbach scored seven points. Dalessandro contributed five points. Malone and Baer combined for three points.
