Dalton FOL president
DALTON  Dalton Friends of the Library, which last met in January 2020, will reorganize at a meeting in the library community room on Tuesday, March 15, at 1 p.m. The meeting is open to people of all ages who use and appreciate Dalton’s branch of the Wayne County Public Library.
Dalton branch manager Teresa Jager and WCPL director Jennifer Shatzer will attend the meeting to explain how the library system has adapted its hours and services the past two years and to answer questions about library services in the future.
The recent acquisition of Reed Records Management in Wooster by a Cleveland-based company has necessitated changes in the shred truck project Dalton FOL has used as a fundraiser for the past five years. Shred bags are currently being sold at the library and a truck will come to receive filled bags on Thursday, April 21 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m.-noon.
Dalton FOL president Melody Snure said the annual FOL membership drive will resume this spring to reconnect FOL with the community.
She encouraged area library users to attend the March 15 meeting to help shape the future of Dalton FOL. The meeting will conclude with light refreshments and time to connect with friends.
The Dalton Library at 127 S. Church St. is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Information is available by calling the library at 330-828-8486.
