SUGAR CREEK TWP. No injuries reported after a pickup truck struck a utility pole just outside of Dalton.
According to an Ohio Highway Patrol report, a local woman was traveling westbound at about 8:43 p.m. Sept. 4 and failed to make the curve and struck this utility pole at the southwest corner of Main Street and Wenger Road in front of the water tower.
The woman left the scene but then returned. Troopers found she did not have a valid driver’s license. She had a passenger but did not give information about the passenger.
Sugar Creek Township and AT & T were contacted about the pole down. The vehicle had to be towed.
The woman told law enforcement that an oncoming vehicle had high beams activated and it was raining hard, which is why she lost control.
