Voters approve fire levies for both Baughman, Sugar Creek townships

Voters passed fire levies for both Baughman and Sugar Creek townships May 5. The Wayne County Board of Elections will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 26 to certify official primary election results.

According to the Wayne County Board of Elections website, unofficial results show 184 votes were cast for the Northern Sugar Creek Township Fire District Proposed Tax Levy (renewal) and 132 votes were against. For the Southern Sugar Creek Township Fire District Proposed Tax Levy (additional), 233 votes were for the levy and 94 were against the levy.

For the unincorporated Baughman Township Fire District Proposed Tax Levy (additional), 646 voted for the levy and 246 voted against the levy.
