Hershberger, Edwin D. “Eddie”
Edwin D. “Eddie” Hershberger, 67, of Dalton and formerly of Mount Eaton, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
He was born in Holmes County on May 13, 1953 to the late Dan S. and Amanda J. (Miller) Hershberger and had worked in the logging industry for many years. He also loved animals, especially his horse Penny.
He is survived by children, Rosy (Steve) Meinke of Sugarcreek, Leah (Wes) Miller of Pryor, OK, Jeannie (Ken) Schlabach of Sugarcreek and Galen Edwin (Andrea) Young of Linden, TN; his former wife, Mary Ann Hershberger of Sugarcreek; grandchildren, Brandon (Shelly) Meinke, Cassie and Mariah Meinke, Courtney, Blake and Brooke Miller, Autumn (Eddie) Burkholder, Colby and Grady Schlabach, Kadence and Kennedy Young; great grandchildren, Leo and Nash Meinke; siblings, Susan (Daniel) Hochstetler of Dalton, Ada (David) Swartzentruber of Millersburg, Edna Mast of Millersburg, Anne (Noah) Chupp of Sugarcreek, Atlee (Jill) Hershberger of Millersburg, Ella Kay (Kenny) Hendrix of Apple Creek, Nancy (Ray) Troyer of Millersburg, Ruby (Vernon) Troyer of Dundee and Cindy (John) Iams of Berlin; a sister-in-law, Emma Troyer of Sugarcreek; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hershberger; and brothers-in-law, David Mast and Melvin Erb.
Private family services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Grace Church, 5850 County Road 77, Millersburg. The service will be live streamed through allaboutgrace.org or the church Facebook page. Calling hours for extended family and close friends will be prior from 12:30 to 1:30 also at the church. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
