Ellis, Cheryl A.

Orrville — Cheryl A. Ellis, age 73, of Orrville, also of Punta Gorda, FL, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, FL, following a recent stroke.
Cheryl was born on October 15, 1947, in Findlay, Ohio, to Earl and Ruth (Hensel) Stumpp (deceased), graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1965, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio Northern University in 1969.  She married Robert “Bob” Ellis on July 11, 1969 in Marseilles, OH.
After a career of teaching elementary education, she transitioned into the insurance industry as a State Farm agent in the Orrville and Eastern Wayne County area from which she retired in 2002.
Cheryl was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Orrville. She was a supporter of the Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club, Orrville High School activities and the Orrville Salvation Army.  She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, golfing, and travel, especially to their home in Punta Gorda. She will be remembered for her strong friend bases in Ohio and Florida, her commitment to helping others, and her love and pride in her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Bob Ellis; two sons, Jeff (Barb) Ellis of Orrville and Jim (Kim) Ellis of North Canton; four grandchildren, Taylor and Michael Ellis of Orrville, and Jamison and Halle Ellis of North Canton; a sister, Rhonda (David) Allenick of Bainbridge Township; and a brother-in-law, Keith Barga of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathie Barga.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville, from 10:30 am to 11:45 am.
Services will follow at noon on Saturday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. David Rittgers officiating and will be live streamed at facebook.com/AubleFuneralHome. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.  Visitors are required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and adhere to posted signs and spacing limitations.  Seating may be limited.
A separate celebration of Cheryl’s life will be scheduled in the near future in Florida.
