What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?

I love working at Dalton Local Schools because of the welcoming and supportive staff, students, and community. Everyone truly works together with each individual student’s best interest in mind.

How did you get to where you are today?

My education probably did not start out like the typical teacher. I received my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, and worked in physical therapy for three years before deciding to return to school to do what I really enjoy – working with kids. I had always dreamed of being a teacher ever since kindergarten. I have been teaching for four years and have had the pleasure of working at Dalton for three of them. While my kindergarten teacher was an inspiration to me, I learned so much from my student teacher mentor at Melrose Elementary and strive to teach with the perfect mix of passion and patience that she has.

Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.

One interesting fact about me is that my family won a trip to Hawaii in 2014. We spent a total of 17 days there, on both Maui and Oahu. It is so beautiful and I would love to go back someday.
