“Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog!”
On Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, nine Geriatric Dawgs from the class of 1955 and their guests enjoyed lunch at The Dutch Kitchen. The alums included Liz (Lehman) Augspurger, Rose (Gerber) Emery, Liz (Mason) Gerber, Myron Horst, Ronald Hostetler, Bob McGovern, Ron Raber, Allen Slabach, and John Earl Sprunger. Of the original 50 graduates, 24 survive. Eight of those who did not attend sent messages via note cards, phone calls, and email; Bob and Jo Weikert participated briefly by face-timing on iPhone during the event. The smaller attendance this year most likely reflected increasing health issues, travel distances and some understandable COVID hesitancy. When asked about meeting again next year, there was consensus that we should continue to meet annually, preferably at lunch time in September. Geriatric Dawgs like to share fond memories and, even more, to make new ones.
