Killbuck Savings Bank Co. Superstar on Staff: Ann Dennison

Ann Dennison,
Dalton Local
clinical counselor

1. What do you love about working at Dalton Local Schools?
The best part about working at Dalton Local Schools is the people. From the beginning of my time working at Dalton Schools, I have felt welcomed, supported, and valued. Working with the children makes me smile every day. The staff’s focus on teamwork, creativity, and a strong advocacy for student success, is a great fit for my philosophy on how best to help children be successful. I appreciate the administration and staff’s trust in me to work with the students and their families.

2. How did you get to where you are today?
I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in chemistry from The College of Wooster. After originally planning to pursue a career in medicine, I decided that the field of psychology/counseling was a better fit. I received my Masters in Community Counseling from the University of Akron and then received my clinical endorsement, giving me a Professional Clinical Counselor license. I have always worked with
children, first in home-based intervention in Stark County and then in my current position in school-based counseling with The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes County.

3. Tell us one interesting little fact about yourself that people would be surprised to hear.
In my free time, I enjoy watching cooking shows, trying new recipes, and baking (especially cookies).
