Drushell, David A.
DALTON – David A. Drushell, age 80, passed away on August 23, 2022.
Born on June 22, 1942 in Ashland, OH to the late Donald and Pauline (Jones) Drushell, he was a resident of Dalton since 1965. David retired from Rosemount Analytics (formerly Westinghouse) in Orrville after 40 years of service. He was a member of Omega Tabernacle where he served as song leader and deacon for many years. He enjoyed farming, auctions, traveling and spending time with his family, especially attending sporting events for his grandchildren and extended family. He had coached baseball for his son’s teams in his earlier years and was recognized by the FFA in Ashland County as a state farmer in 1960.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant sister, Janet Drushell and brothers-in-law, Art Walter, Dale Klingler, Rich Kamph, and Norman Lowe. David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sylvia; son, Nathan (Becky) Drushell of Akron; daughter, Denise (Mike) Otto of Wooster; grandchildren, Madeline, Emma, Audrey and Gabe Drushell, Hannah (Aaron) Mast, Sarah, Ben (fiancée, Sarah Shearer), and Lydia Otto; brothers, Kenneth (Lois) Drushell of Nova, Jerry Drushell of Wooster; sisters, Donna Walter and Joyce (Jim) Brothers all of Ashland; brother-in-law, Allen Slabach; sisters-in-law, Etta Mae Slabach, Elsie Klingler, Ruthie Kamph, and Bonnie Lowe; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 29 E. Main St., Dalton, OH, 44618 with Pastor Stephen Gulsby, officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday.
