A strong finish at the Division III Regional cross country meet Oct. 29 was enough to punch the Dalton High School girls team’s ticket to the state meet, the first time ever a Bulldogs girls team qualified for the state meet.

“The girls met their expectations at regionals,” said Dalton’s head coach Jodi Augspurger. “They did what we thought they could and pushed themselves to the fourth place finish, which means that they are the first girls cross country team from Dalton to qualify for state. Emberlynn Nolt ran an impressive race finishing in 12th place, thus she individually qualified for state. And, of our seven girls, the majority of them ran the best times they’ve ever run on Boardman’s course.”

Mogadore placed first in the girls team race, followed by Norwayne, McDonald, Dalton and Rittman.

Emberlynn Nolt was Dalton’s top finisher in the individual standings. She came in 12th overall with a time of 20:12.50.
