Jonas J. Hershberger Jr., 73, of 6691 S. Kansas Road, Apple Creek, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 following a brief illness.
He was born in Wooster on July 26, 1950 to the late Jonas J.D. and Katie (Troyer) Hershberger and on May 20, 1971 he married Naomi Schlabach. She survives.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Dennis (Susan) Hershberger of Apple Creek, Lewis (Mattie) Hershberger of Apple Creek, David (Freda) Hershberger of Fredericksburg, Lester (Katie) Hershberger of Apple Creek, Aaron (Mattie) Hershberger of Fredericksburg, Susan (David) Yoder of Wooster, Miriam (Aaron) Miller of Fredericksburg, and Leanna (Levi) Swartzentruber of the home; 66 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susan (Eli) Yoder, Edna (Robert) Miller, Katie (Mose) Troyer; a brother, John (Lydia) Hershberger; and sisters-in-law, Mary and Anna Hershberger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary (Jacob) Yoder, and Pete (Anna) Miller; brothers, Roman, Albert, and Dan; and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 9:30 am at the family residence with Bishop Levi E. Mast officiating. Burial will follow in Hershberger Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 1:00 pm on Thursday and anytime on Friday. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
