Robert S. “Bob” Roger, 76

DALTON — Robert S. “Bob” Roger (age 76) of Dalton, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home near Dalton.
Bob was born on September 1, 1947 in Newburyport, Massachusetts to the late Robert and Marquita (Shattuck) Roger. He attended Davis and Elkins College before joining the Air Force and serving stateside during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a dental technician and jewelry maker for over 40 years, retiring in 2010. He married Carol M. Haflinger on April 7, 1979; they recently celebrated their 45th anniversary.
Bob was a member of the Southern California Motorcycle Association (SCMA) where he proudly served as an Officer and Chairman, planning and leading rides for many years. He was an American Traditional musician, performing with Picks and Hammers, The Light Fingered Five, and The Shue Strings. He also loved bird watching, the Atlantic Ocean, the national parks, and the feeling of the wind in his curly hair
Surviving are his wife Carol Roger; daughter, Allison Roger (Nate Manny) of Bainbridge.
Island, WA; son, Scott Roger (Meghan Meeker) of Akron; two sister-in-laws, Mary Lou Haflinger (Tim McNulty) of Northfield, and Toni Ryan (Jeff Ryan) of Sacramento, CA; and his favorite cat, Stretch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Roger and Jeff Ryan.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.
