Becky S. Shonk, 75

WOOSTER — Becky S. Shonk, 75, of Wooster, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Wooster Community Hospital, following a period of declining health.

Born on June 16, 1948, in Massillon, Ohio, Becky was the daughter of Harold and Wilma (Buchwalter) Graber. She graduated from Orrville High School in 1966.

Becky dedicated 16 years of her life as a Case Worker for Wayne County Child Protective Services, retiring in 2006.

Surviving are son, Michael Lee (Mellany) Shonk of Copley; two daughters, Kristen Sue (Lee) Thompson of Columbus and Kerri Beth Shonk of Myrtle Beach, SC;  6 grandchildren; one great grandchild; six siblings, Elizabeth Dole of Canton, Barbara Stoll of Orrville, Bonnie Fleming of Orrville, Bill (John Sanchez) Graber of Palm Springs, CA, Bob (Amy) Graber of Orrville, and Beverly Pedroza of Melbourne, FL.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Nadine “Toots” Gibson, and father, Harold Edward Graber.

A celebration of Becky’s life will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on May 18, 2024, at Christ United Church of Christ, 301 North Main Street, Orrville.  Burial of cremated remains will take place later at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church Cemetery in North Lawrence.
