Myra Kay Gum, 67

Myra Kay Gum, 67, of Orrville, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2024, at her son’s residence in Louisville, Ohio, following a period of declining health.
Born on June 15, 1957, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Myra was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hall) Finch. She married her husband and partner of 43 years, Jackie Gum, on August 9, 2007, in Morgantown, West Virginia. Jack survives her.
Myra dedicated 20 years of her life to working in the laundry department at Orrville Pointe (JAG) Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, retiring in 2020.
She attended the Orrville Christian Church and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for collecting elephant statues, and her love for music was evident in her fondness for Journey, Kid Rock, and Michael Jackson. Myra’s caring and compassionate nature made her a beloved figure in her family, and she was especially cherished as a “saint” in the eyes of her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jack, Myra is survived by two sons, August (Christine) Rebold Jr. of Grafton, West Virginia, and John (Heather) Rebold of Louisville, Ohio; eight grandchildren: Courtney (Chris) Grabbe, August Rebold III, Christopher Rebold, Alex Rebold, Lizzie Rebold, Katie Rebold, Harleigh Rebold, and Carleigh Rebold; three great-grandchildren: Harmony Grabbe, Asher Rebold, and Deliliah Rebold; and ten siblings.
Myra was preceded in death by her son, Jackie Gum, unborn great-grand baby, and her first husband, August Rebold.
In keeping with Myra’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
