Katie E. Schmucker, 78

Katie E. Schmucker, 78 of Kidron, died Monday, May 18, 2026 from injuries sustained in an accident.

She was born near Fredericksburg on April 30, 1948 to the late Emanuel J. and Mary M. (Mast) Miller and Married Melvin E. Schmucker on September 26, 1968 and he survives.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

In addition to her husband, Melvin, she is survived by children, John Schmucker of Marion, Laura Schmucker of Dalton and Catherine (Paul) Troyer of Sarasota, FL; 9 grandchildren, Arlin (Jenna), Jason (Kayla), late Amber (Stephen), Brendan (late Theresa), Jessica (Chris), Brenda, Brian (Vivian), Sylvia (Jonathan) and Katie; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Henry Miller and Andrew (Alda) Miller; and a sister-in-law, Lavina (late Crist) Miller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber; granddaughter-in-law, Theresa; sisters, Edna and Lizzie Ann; brothers, Roy, John and Crist; and two infant brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 9:00 am at the Henry Troyer Jr. residence, 4609 Zuercher Road, Dalton with Bishop Roy E. Yoder officiating.  Burial will follow in the Yoder Cemetery.  Friends may call after 1:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Henry Troyer Jr. residence.
