Dean Hicks, 69

Dean Hicks, 69, of Apple Creek, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

He was born in Orrville on July 8, 1956 to Jerry and Marjorie (Moser) Hicks.

Dean retired from Waynedale Local Schools in 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Hicks; daughters, Ashley (Matthew) Hoover, and Lauren Lytle; step-sons, Larry (Amanda) Yoder, Daniel (Wanda) Yoder, and Andrew Yoder Jr.; 7 grandchildren; his mother, Marge; a brother, Gary Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Hicks; and brothers, Robert and Chris Hicks.

Following Dean’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
