Gerald H. Harrison, 88

Gerald H. Harrison, 88, of Marshallville, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family following a period of declining health.

He attended Smithville High School and spent 40 years as a truck driver, working for Georgia-Pacific, Frito-Lay, Buckeye Feeds, Orrville Milk, Orrville Products, and Shade Trucking. Following his retirement from trucking, Gerald continued working at Brown Furniture in Orrville.
Gerald was a longtime member of Marshallville United Methodist Church and, more recently, attended Orrville Christian Church. He also volunteered with the Marshallville Fire Department. He enjoyed riding his bicycle along the Rails-to-Trails route between Marshallville and Orrville, but above all, he treasured the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Harrison of Marshallville; two sons, Gerald Mark (Annette) Harrison of Orrville and Dana (MaryJo) Harrison of Orrville; one daughter, Dawn (Jarrod) Brown of Orrville; nine grandchildren, Andrew Harrison, Ryan Harrison, Molly (Phinh K.) Harrison, Justine Harrison (fiancée Zack Marshalek), Chad (Jill) Harrison, Trent Harrison (fiancée Caitlin Pakish), Harrison Brown, Allyson (Jake) Evanoff, and Payton Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Evanoff.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his daughter, Krista Harrison; and his brothers, Ronald Harrison and Dwight E. Harrison.
In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no public services. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Marshallville.
